I want to ensure that your feet never stop you from doing the activities that you want to do
I am John Charles, the Running Podiatrist. I have a huge passion for running and how it can help your physical and mental health. I use my skills and knowledge as a Podiatrist to help others improve their lower limb health and achieve their running and physical health goals.
I discovered running at the age of 19 when my dad entered me and my brother in the Nike Run London 10k event through the lush surroundings of Richmond Park. I haven’t looked back since and have taken part in some amazing events including the London and Melbourne Marathons, Ironman Australia and New Zealand (with a swim and bike first!), competed for clubs and universities at national and county championships, met many inspirational people and running as allowed me to do this!
I worked for the London Marathon Running Store for 8 years and my interest in runners and running led me to becoming a Podiatrist. I currently work at a bespoke Podiatry Clinic in Toorak, am a member of the Kaizen Triathlon Academy and am closely involved with a number of local running groups.
I love working with runners and believe that everyone should have the opportunity and tools to enable them to run pain-free and with enjoyment. I use detailed assessment, treatment and programs to help you achieve your running goals.
I am part of the Paromed Podiatry Group and utilise the latest technology to help understand your feet. I help with problems such as:
- finding shoes and orthotics that actually fit your fit! I design my own orthotics from the ground up with an error margin of 0.01mm.
- understanding the cause of your foot problems. Using pressure measurement to understand damaging loads which cannot be seen by the eye alone.
- knowing if treatments are working. Ever felt like you weren't sure if the footwear or insoles make a difference? My systems ensure you have objective information every step of the way.
- getting the whole picture. Pressure readings are an essential part of any foot assessment - whether you are a Diabetic, playing sport, working on your feet or going through the aging process. Don't sell yourself short when it comes to getting a complete view of what is going on with them!
